IBM i2 Analyst’s Notebook is a visual analysis tool that helps users to quickly collate, analyse, and visualize data from disparate sources. The tool turns data into intelligence, allows to combine association, temporal and geospatial aspects of data as well as strengths understanding of complex criminal and fraudulent activities and networks.  There are three levels of this course: essentials, advanced and complete. All levels include different hands-on exercises.

Essentials Course

The three-day introductory course leads participants through IBM i2 Analyst’s Notebook 9V (thereafter – ANB) main features using practical exercises relevant to Intelligence and Law enforcement agencies investigations. Participants learn main principals of drawing manually an association and flow charts from unstructured data, as well as creating automated charts using data import.  Additionally, they will practice how to quickly find targeted data and analyse financial and communication records from various perspectives by applying different search and analysis techniques, such as Visual Analysis, List Items, Most Connected Items, Find Connecting Networks. Some of the benefits that will be obtained are understanding the terminology, creation of charts from unstructured data, use of Visual Search function, understanding the possibilities of various techniques and many other.

Prerequisites
To obtain the maximum benefits from this class, students should be able to understand the course curriculum presented in English and understand basics of data analysis and investigation process.

Advanced Import and Analysis Using IBM i2 Analyst’s Notebook Course

This two-day course is a follow up to IBM i2 Analyst’s Notebook Essentials course. It will focus on progressive data import and use of advanced search and analysis techniques for daily analytical tasks. In addition to learning about complex analysis of data from various sources and different perspectives, i.e. temporal and geospatial or link and quantitative analysis, participants will gain insights how to exploit different techniques for the target’s behaviour analysis and geospatial analysis. The participants will gain benefits from this course such as use of the advanced search and analytical techniques, identifying patterns and sequences using Activity View, Conditional Formatting for analysis and many more.

Prerequisites
To obtain the maximum benefits from this class, students should be able to understand the course curriculum presented in English and understand basics of data analysis and investigation process. Also, to previously attend IBM i2 analyst’s notebook essentials course.

IBM i2 Analyst’s Notebook Complete Course

The five-day complete course will lead participants through IBM i2 Analyst’s Notebook 9V (thereafter – ANB) features using practical exercises relevant to investigations for Intelligence and Law enforcement agencies. Participants will learn to apply program possibilities to achieve the most effective result in the shortest time. They will practice how to quickly find targeted data and analyse financial and communication records from different perspectives applying different search and analysis technique. In addition to enhancing their knowledge of advanced analysis techniques for most common daily tasks, they will gain insights on how to exploit such techniques for the target’s behaviour and geospatial analysis. Benefits gained from this course combines all the benefits from Essentials and Advanced IBM i2 courses, therefore the participants can obtain all the benefits in this single course
