The DataFocus Cyber Conference brings new knowledge and strategies for effective protection against cyber threats in Croatia.

How can Croatian institutions, companies, and citizens be protected from cyberattacks or personal data theft? The answers come from the experts we are gathering at the new DataFocus Cyber Conference.

News

Our lives, businesses, and infrastructure are increasingly connected with technology, making security a critical issue. Cyber threats have become an everyday reality—from attacks on companies and institutions to the compromising of personal data. Given the rapid development of new technologies and the connectivity of all our devices, it is becoming increasingly clear that traditional protection methods are no longer sufficient.

That’s why the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), a European Union law that brings new rules and standards to ensure the security of products connected to the Internet, is in force from December 2024.

It obliges manufacturers and vendors to ensure the security of products with digital components, such as smartwatches, mobile devices, and various software, throughout their entire lifecycle. This would reduce cyber risks for consumers and, as well as companies, because manufacturers are obliged to provide regular updates and security measures.

We have recognized the importance of this topic and the strong interest in our market, which is why the DataFocus Cyber Conference will be held on April 2 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Zagreb, in collaboration with the Croatian Institute for Cybersecurity.

At this event, we will bring together experts in the fields of cybersecurity, legislation, and digital forensics, focusing on the already mentioned CRA. Discussions will cover the current status of the implementation of the EU NIS2 Directive and the roles of digital forensics in this process.

In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to listen to a panel discussion on the CRA, which will define the roles of regulators, responsibilities of government institutions, and comment on the specifics of product and service certification. Emphasis will also be placed on technical challenges in cybersecurity, especially on the process of updating, testing, and maintaining security measures, as well as the implementation of the CRA law in Croatia.

The opening lecture, titled “Regulatory Framework of the Cybersecurity Law and Implementation Process,” will be delivered by a representative of the National Cybersecurity Centre (NCSC-HR), while Mr. Krešimir Hausknecht from INsig2 will speak on “The Role of Digital Forensics in the Threat Response Process.” Additionally, Tamara Hadjina from Končar will give a lecture on “Challenges in Establishing Cybersecurity for Operational Technology,” and Antun Đuranec, Senior SOC Analyst, and Mato Vlajčić, Principal Incident Response Specialist from Infigo, will present a lecture on “Hunting the Unknown: Threat Hunting 101.”

“In today’s digital environment, cybersecurity is not only a technological challenge but also a key issue for the protection of our fundamental values: privacy, trust, and business operations. Through the DataFocus Cyber Conference, we aim to bring together experts to discuss new regulations like the Cyber Resilience Act. Through dialogue on the implementation of EU directives and the challenges in maintaining security at all levels, we want to help our partners, institutions, and the public better understand how to prepare for potential challenges in the cyber domain. INsig2, as a global leader in digital security, is committed to ensuring that Croatia is ready for the changes ahead,” said Goran Oparnica, Director of INsig2.

The conference offers a unique opportunity for a deeper understanding of the challenges and solutions in the world of cybersecurity, and tickets are available at Entrio.hr.
