Description
This course provides participants with a fundamental understanding of cybersecurity, with an emphasis on practical application in both professional and personal environments. It is intended for individuals without an IT background who use digital tools, data, and communication platforms in their daily work. Through eight thematic modules, the course focuses on identifying and understanding the most common security challenges, including social engineering, phishing attacks, malware and risks associated with mobile devices, networks, removable media, and cloud services. Special emphasis is placed on developing secure habits, proper password management, and the use of multi-factor authentication, as well as secure communication and remote work practices. The course is practice-oriented and through a range of real-world scenarios and exercises, enables participants to develop practical skills, including analysing suspicious messages, managing passwords, applying encryption and configuring security settings. Upon completion, participants will be able to identify manipulation attempts and social engineering techniques and respond appropriately, distinguish between different types of phishing attacks and take appropriate action, securely use devices, networks, digital services and recognize signs of malware while applying basic protective measures. They will also apply principles of digital and physical workspace security, as well as fundamental cybersecurity hygiene practices in remote work environments.
This is an introductory course that combines key theoretical concepts with practical application, aiming to develop awareness and responsible behaviour in the digital environment.
Prerequisites
Participants should be familiar with the Microsoft Windows environment.
